Vintage bike ride sunday 28 August 2016 starting from Ciney.

Spend the day travelling through the countryside of Condroz and the Famenne on the “La Savoureuse” vintage bike ride.
“La Savoureuse” will bring together all those who are passionate about old bikes, fans of vintage fashion, those who love bike rides and gourmets.
As its name indicates, la Savoureuse transforms refreshment halts into gastronomic stops where you can taste locally-made produce.

Offering 3 itineraries (30/60/90km) starting from Ciney, this day of cycling is suitable for families, confirmed cyclists and those who enjoy a lovely ride as well as the most sporty “convicts of the road”. The different itineraries will give participants the opportunity to taste a few samples of local produce and to admire the cultural heritage and natural history of the villages on the route. At the same time they will be cocooned in a chic and period atmosphere.

Bar and country refreshments – Entertainment throughout the day for young and old alike: wooden games, bouncy castle, photo competitions, unrestricted walk with commentaries in the centre of Ciney, vintage bike exhibition, various stalls, little farmers’ market… Concerts from 15h onwards – Grand raffle at 18h.

 

Price

20€ per person +2€ for the breakfast (10€ for under 12s + 1€ for breakfast)

Registration includes:

  • access to the itinerary of your choice (30/60/90 km),
  • a bracelet entitling you to a drink and a tasting session per refreshment stop (between 4 and 6)
  • a frame number for your bike in the colours of la Savoureuse
  • a food bag in the colours of la Savoureuse.

The event begins with a 10h00 start in the centre of Ciney.

Between 4 and 6 gourmet stops to taste local produce + visit (optional) and musical entertainment in unusual settings (castles, farms, museums, agricultural producers, etc.)

Dresscode

Everyone can dress as they want! Different sorts of hats, bright colours, braces, moustaches, and so on. Think about retro style! The whole atmosphere depends on the big contribution made by the people involved in the day. We are relying on you to wear clothing appropriate for the era of your bike.
